About Ameya

Ameya is an avid 14 year old young photographer and student living in London. He has enjoyed capturing people and places from behind his lens from a very young age and has endeavored to use his developing talent to support many charitable causes, including The Smile Train, a UK-based charity working for children born with a cleft palate in developing countries and more recently, Save Wild Tigers, a charity dedicated to Tiger conservation.

Ameya has inherited his parents' passion for travel and through his various journeys, has had the opportunity to explore different cultures.

In 2014, Ameya held his first photography exhibition, showcased in India, to raise money for victims of the Kashmir floods, which had destroyed lives of thousands just weeks after he visited Srinagar.

In December 2015, Ameya supported The SmileTrain, with his second exhibition at the Nehru Centre, Mayfair, London. His camera was sponsored by Olympus as part of this initiative and the funds raised were donated to the charity.

In 2016, Ameya supported two charitable causes, The first, in support of his school's efforts, he raised funds for the Arcadia Primary School in Pretoria, South Africa to build a music facility. Ameya also joined a few of his classmates to visit the school in October 2016. Secondly, he supported the Smile Train with a fund raiser in their efforts to raise awareness and funds on World Smile Day, 7 October, 2016.

During 2017, Ameya continued to support Smile Train during the 2017 London Marathon, capturing the incredible efforts of ambassadors running for the charity. In December 2017, Ameya launched his first Photobook - Wild at Heart: Animal Encounters through my Lens, at the India International Centre in New Delhi.

In 2018, Ameya continued his journey of discovery. The team at Save Wild Tigers gave Ameya an opportunity to become a Youth Ambassador and help spread the message of Tiger conservation through his photography. He was honored to help support Save Wild Tigers work in this space, raising awareness through iconic events, such as the ‘Eye On The Tiger’, an exhibition of tiger photographs from the world's 80 most renowned wildlife photographers at the Royal Albert Hall, London during October 2018.

In continuing his efforts to support the conservation of tigers and their habitat, Ameya is showcasing a series of photographs of tigers and their ecosystem in an exhibition titled, ‘Call Of The Tiger’, during December 2019 in Nagpur, India.
